Part (b)

  1. For the above circuit, find out V (magnitude only), in the Phasor domain, in terms of
    the frequency ω .
  2. Change ω from zero to 600,000 rad/s in steps of 40,000 rad/s. Record (in a table)
    the values of out V for each value of ω . Plot (sketch) out V versus ω .
  3. Comment on the plot. Specifically, what do you observe at ω = 0 , ω = 100, 000 ,
    and ω = 600, 000 . State your conclusion.
  4. If you took out V across the resistor instead of the capacitor, what is the type of filter
    you will have.
    Hint (repeat the previous 3 steps): find out V (magnitude only) in terms of the
    frequency ω , check out V at different values of ω say at ω = 0 , ω = 50, 000 ,
    ω = 100, 000 , and ω = 400, 000 , and then sketch out V versus ω .
    Part (c)
  5. You can design another low pass filter by using one resistor and one inductor only.
    Draw such circuit and specify where you will take the output.
  6. In this case, what is the cutoff frequency.
  7. Take R =10Ω , Design the inductor (choose its value) such that the cutoff
    frequency is kept 100 kHz.

it’s a circuit designed to allow some frequencies and block the other
in the low pass case, the frequencies below the cufoff frequenies will pass while the rest will be rejected

it’s the frequencies at which the magniture of the filter is 0.7 of it’s max
and after this frequencies, everything is rejected
and before that everythig is exepted
