Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Concentration Program

This interdisciplinary concentration covers artificial intelligence and machine learning. It will provide the students with the required knowledge to develop intelligent techniques and systems. Students are exposed to topics such as machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. Furthermore, it also covers perception, motion and manipulation, and reinforcement learning. It promotes interdisciplinary education where computer science intersects with mathematics and engineering. The applications of this concentration are wide-ranging and include automatic image and video processing, healthcare, financial data and trading, speech recognition, facial identification, and seismic survey processing.
يغطي هذا التخصص مجالي الذكاء الاصطناعي وتعلم الآلة. يزوّد الطلاب بالمعرفة اللازمة لتطوير تقنيات وأنظمة ذكية. يتعرف الطلاب على مواضيع مثل تعلم الآلة، التعلم العميق، رؤية الحاسوب، ومعالجة اللغة الطبيعية. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يشمل التخصص موضوعات مثل الإدراك، الحركة والتلاعب، والتعلم المعزز. يعزز التخصص التعليم متعدد التخصصات حيث يتقاطع علم الحاسوب مع الرياضيات والهندسة. تشمل تطبيقات هذا التخصص مجموعة واسعة من المجالات مثل معالجة الصور والفيديو تلقائيًا، الرعاية الصحية، البيانات المالية والتداول، التعرف على الكلام، التعرف على الوجوه، ومعالجة المسوحات الزلزالية.
Application for the Concentration Program
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for all BSc KFUPM students.
- Students with applied major cannot enroll in concentrations.
- Students who completed (79 – 115 hours).
- Students who finished all junior-level courses of the specific majors are eligible to enroll in the concentration after completing the prerequisites.
Timeline:
- Applications open at the end of the first semester of the Junior year ( around November ) till the middle of the following semester ( around February)
- Applications are reviewed at the end of the second semester or early summer.
