The last week was a very busy week for many ITDigest members, and it was full of happy news as well as hope for a steady growth of the young group. First I would like to start with the strong relations we are building with the IEEE student branch in King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. They kindly announced about our group in their magazine ‘Crystal’ March Issue. The magazine provides a set of articles written by Professors, Students, and professionals in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. It also talks about student projects in KFUPM and other universities in the World. The magazine is not only distributed to university students, but also to professionals in many companies interested in IT and Electrical Engineering.
We would like to thank our friend Wasem Al-Khaier the chairman of IEEE student branch in KFUPM for his help as well as Mr. Ahmad Bin Zeyad the publication and advertising manger for his cooperation

We also had a busy schedule with the Gulf Developer Conference 2005 held in the Four Season Hotel in Riyadh on 10, 11, and 12 of April. Many members of our group attended this important event and some of them actually came from Jeddah, Makkah, and Dammam to attend. Many of our academic friends students and research assistants] were also present in the conference. It was a great opportunity to meet each other and to learn new things.
The conference was organized by Microsoft Saudi Arabia to introduce their new technologies for 2005 and their plans for the future. Many sessions were held in parallel in various tracks that included Connected Systems, Windows Longhorn, SQL Server 2005 [yukon], Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, Web Development, and Architecture.
I would like to encourage the guys who attended to summarize what they got from the various seminars and their comments on the conference in general, its organization, its topics and the presented knowledge.
The presentations will be available shortly on the conference site and we will announce it whenever they are ready the event website is
